Show and Tell Tuesday: Halloween Edition

I'm linking up again with Momfessionals for Show and Tell Tuesday! This time we are supposed to be sharing a fun or scary Halloween story. I really don't have any fun OR scary stories to tell so I figured it would be fun to show some of my Halloween costumes from years past...

This was my third Halloween I believe...I was a ballerina and Mariah was the cutest (chunkiest) pumpkin! :)

From one year to the next...I was a bunny and Mariah was the Ballerina!

Huge thank you to my cousin, Lauryn (aka Indian Princess) for this Halloween 1993 pic... I am the blue princess and Mariah is the pink princess, Natalie (the one we threw the baby shower for!) was Jasmine?, and Dalton was a Sheriff? When we were little we would all go to my Grandma's house for Halloween!

Here's a better pic of our costumes...my mom made them!

This was probably 4th grade... I was Scarlett O'Hara. I LOVED anything southern belle for a long time... I still do obvs hence my blog name ;) Oh! and look, I did the off the shoulder look before it was cool...

Halloween 2008, I was Little Bo Peep and David was a Traffic Cone...that he stole off of the road.

Halloween 2010.. I was a sailor girl and David was...Darth Maal?

Halloween my senior year at Texas A&M with my fellow Aggie Recruitment Committee Execs! I was "The Typical Sorority Girl": Oversized T-Shirt, Leggings, Ugg Boots, Neon Cap. Doin' the "Sorority Squat". I'm not hating on all the sorority girls out there; I had so many friends in Greek Life, and heck, I was in a service sorority (totes not the same though)!

Last year, I didn't dress up, but I dressed up this little stinker! Luke was a dragon and we didn't really go out or anything but I'm looking forward to dressing TWO up this year.

Luke and cousin Madelyn. They were so tiny!

World Traveler Baby Shower

This past Saturday, we celebrated the (early) arrival of my cousin Natalie's precious baby boy, Rhett. We have had this shower planned for a while and that little stinker decided he wanted to come into this world 9 weeks early. As with most premie babies, there have been some huge hurdles to overcome, and this boy is just blowing through them left and right! He is SUCH a miracle and a testament to how our Lord provides.

My mom is so talented, y'all. She (and Pinterest) came up with the most precious shower and all I did was help prepare food/set up everything.

For the food table in the dining room, she had these suitcases stacked and filled with items you would pack for Baby.

So fitting.
My mom found this at Hobby Lobby, but it isn't available online.

Just a perfect 2 lb 8 oz human being.

Almond cupcakes with strawberry filling and buttercream frosting. (Decorated by moi!)

 More delicious food!
These are one of my favorites. Make a peanut butter sandwich with Ritz crackers and dip them in melted chocolate (or white chocolate) almond bark.

In the living room, she had the most precious clothes line with baby clothes and toys!

One fun thing that was done at one of my baby showers that we have done at every shower ever since: writing messages on diapers for those late night changings. It can be encouraging, inspirational, funny, or even crude (I'm looking at you Grandma...)!

I mean, you can't have a "World Traveler" themed baby shower without this book

I don't think I'm clever at all but I know Daddy loves Star Wars (just like my baby daddy) so on one of the diapers I wrote, "Storm 'Poop'er". Another one I came up with was, "Darth Vader had to change Luke's diapers, too..." (Now I don't know this for sure, and I know of probably a few people who are into Star Wars back stories that would be able to correct me if I am wrong in this assumption!)
Made these letters out of Mod Podge and a US map. I went off of this tutorial.

We also played a game where you had to put a piece of paper up on your head and then try to draw a baby without looking. Mommy had to choose the best ones and they received a prize!

I love baby showers so much (especially now that I have babies) because you see things that you know are tried and true (Nose Frida...gross but it WORKS//Rock N Play Rocker) and then you get to get ideas about what else you need!
