A lot of people have been curious about what we are doing in regard to our living situation...
As most of you know, David and I bought a house in Bryan right before we got married and lived there until July 2014. When David got a new job, we moved back home to the DFW area to a two bedroom apartment. We used our second bedroom as my home office where I was able to continue working for the company in College Station, with just some extra travel involved. It was the perfect set up for just us two, and we had plenty of space... especially because we left a lot of things in the Bryan house.
Well fast forward just a few months when we got the surprise of our lives, learning that the newest addition of our family would be arriving in June, and we knew we had a few things to figure out!
Our number one priority was fixing up the Bryan house in order to get it ready to sell. Football season was upon us and we really didn't have much time between working full-time up north and traveling/tailgating/etc. to get the necessary things done.
Projects were never easy in this house:
- As chronicled in this blog, we had a living room paint fiasco that lasted MONTHS. If you are REALLY BORED, you can read about that here, here, and here. (It was a big deal for a while)
- We had a dining room floor that was partly ripped up since October 2013... Thanks to a hot water leak pipe in the foundation between our guest bathroom and dining room, we had to drill into the foundation, and cut a hole in the wall in order to fix it. In the process of that, we had to rip some of the wood floors up, which wouldn't have been so difficult if they weren't glued to the concrete below... Just getting a square foot of that flooring up took a whole lot of effort and time that we really didn't have!
Thankfully, after months of discussions and deliberation, we finally made a call to a local real estate company and explained our situation. They were amazing and took over everything. We got contractors in the house and fixed up the flooring, drywall, painted and more to get the house in top shape. After a professional photographer and staging, the house was listed and received an offer in less than 24 hours. A week later, the first offer fell through, but another one came in at almost the exact same time and it was even better than the first one! We were shocked how fast everything moved, but we knew it was all a God thing. Prayers were answered, that's for sure!
It is bittersweet to let our first home go, but we just pray that the new family will be able to enjoy it as much as we did. Yes, we complained a lot about it, had many problems and mishaps, but it truly was an amazing house. We had so much room that we didn't know what to do with it all, the kitchen was custom and beautiful, and it was our home.
We closed on the house about 2 weeks ago, and now we are in the hunt for a new house! Wish us luck!

A whole bunch of things rolled into one post. Deal with it.
This post is going to be random. Beware.
Last week, my mom and grandma came down to visit and help with my *STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION* living room. I swear, they were such a HUGE help, and I don't think I could have done it without them! I'm not going to go into any details now, but I might write a post about it once I'm finally done.
Yes, those are MAROON doors. Yikes, is right.

Home Workin'
Yikes. I have truly become a slacker when it comes to keeping up with this blog... Sorry y'all! I'm currently waiting for only the BIGGEST game for the Aggies to start against Alabama. Gig 'Em Aggies!
As promised, I am going to post a few pictures from our "new" house!
Since I last updated, NOTHING has happened to the mean ol' primer on the wall in the living room, so its still a whitish gray with dark maroon peeking out in places...
Annnnd Last but not least... my favorite room of the house:
Well as I finish this post, the Aggies are up 14-0 with 7 min left in the first quarter. Keep it up Aggies! Whoop!

Oops!
Okay, so I would like to officially apologize for not updating y'all in like three weeks!
I have been so swamped with wedding showers, school, football, and moving things into our new house!
No, I unfortunately don't have any pictures yet, but it is on my to-do list (which is a mile long...)!
My two wedding showers have been AWESOME and I am so thankful for everyone that was able to celebrate with us! We have another shower this weekend and I am looking forward to a fun party.
Here's a not so funny story for ya, Ags:
Dark maroon living room. Not cool. First project for the house, obviously. Finally picked out paint color (pretty bluish gray aka Behr River Rock). Bought Kilz primer and painted two coats on a very large room. While painting primer, I was thinking, "this is drying kinda weird..." but kept going. BIG mistake. Wait two days and attempt to paint a test spot of actual paint on walls. Paint separates and does not go on smooth due to primer. Cue words of frustration, slamming things down, and eventually tears. Looks like lots of scrubbing walls to get the junky primer off the walls. Awesome.
So this is basically what is going on in my life right now. I promise I will attempt to post pics of the house soon!

Fabulous Friday!
It's finally Friday, and somehow I survived another week of school and work! I've been MIA for a while so I figured I would throw a bunch of things into one post.
1. David and I are officially homeowners! We signed the papers on Monday but we're not getting the keys until the end of the month... I promise I will make a huge post about the house and all its details as soon as I can get in there! Patience is not a strong point for me so this is going to be a long next week!
2. How is it already September 21st? I swear it was just Labor Day. Dang. On that note, 99 days until the wedding. 99 days of using the word "fiance" as many times as I can (I'm still not used to saying it!).
3. Tomorrow is game day in College Station, but it starts off with me running in my first 5k! I'm pretty excited about it! :)
4. *BRAG TIME* I completely dominated in Fantasy Football this week and ended up ranked first in the league (of all guys) might I add! This has never happened to me, and I doubt it ever will again, so I just had to slip this in here as documentation that my somewhat flawed way of choosing players because they're cute or have a cool last name worked for me this week!
There you have it. Thanks and Gig 'Em!
