Friday Favorites

Whew! Friday again. I can't believe how fast yet so slow this week has gone.

I am linking up with Erika, Narci and Andrea for Friday Favorites again!

1. La Croix Sparkling Water. This is the only way I have been drinking water lately. I currently have the Blackberry Cucumber, Pineapple Strawberry, Cran-Raspberry, Apple Cranberry & Coconut flavors in my fridge/pantry. It is a great alternative for soda when you are trying to limit calories or sugar intake because it still has that carbonation that gives it a kick. #obsessed.

2. Erin Condren LifePlanner. I just got this in the mail this week and I am so excited to get into it. There is just something about getting a new planner, writing down goals and plans and events! I love how you can customize it exactly how you want it and you can even have your own pictures printed for the covers.

3. Toms Wedge Booties. I had been wanting these Toms booties for the longest time and I finally went ahead and ordered them so I could wear them all fall and winter long. I've already worn them multiple times in the past week and I probably look a little eager wearing booties when the temps are in the high 90's, but I don't care!

4. Parenting by The Book: Biblical Wisdom for Raising Your Child. I'm only in chapter two but it is just a very interesting book written by a psychologist that outlines how the Bible is a blueprint for parenting.

5. Our family photos. We had these taken about a month back and we got our final pictures edited and send back to us. I am so in love with them. Jules Photo and Design is the best! We had used her for maternity pics and for Luke's newborn pics so it was just necessary for her to do it with Ben too. And to top it all off, she works with Family Legacy and has taken photos of my sister in Zambia.

Weekend Workout

Happy Saturday, y'all! If you are anything like me, your TV is tuned into college football right now.

Luke is just feeling crummy and teething like crazy so we are laying low this weekend after being gone the previous few weekends. Currently, I have laundry going, dinner in the crock pot and two sleeping babies (whoop!). In between folding/putting away laundry and taking care of two little boogers, I am planning on watching some big games this afternoon. Alabama vs. Ole Miss, Ohio State vs. Oklahoma and of course, the big one: Texas A&M vs. Auburn. :)

To make things even more interesting, I'm going to be doing a little BootyBall workout thanks to the girls of Tone It Up.

There you have it! Join me in working out to a great football game today. Depending on how the game goes, I might be VERY sore. Hey, no pain, no gain, right?

Have a great weekend and Gig 'Em Aggies! BTHO Auburn.

Friday Favorites

Whew! Thank goodness we made it to Friday. Here is what I have been loving lately...

1. Chick-Fil-A Kale Salad with Grilled Nuggets

I have been ordering this from Chick-Fil-A the past few weeks in an attempt to be good while I'm on the 21 Day Fix (read about that here, here, and here!). I have always shied away from kale but this superfood salad is pretty darn good. Throw on some of their grilled nuggets and you've got yourself a meal. For those of you who are familiar with 21 Day Fix, I count this as 1 green (veggie), 1 red (protein), and 1 yellow (seeds/dressing).

2. Our Pack 'N Play
These things are so wonderful. Seriously. I use one in my bedroom for Luke to keep him contained while I shower/get dressed/blog and I use another one in the living room with the bassinet insert to lay Ben down safely out of reach of Luke. We currently just take one with us when we travel (since Ben is still in this rocker), but soon we will be taking both. Its seriously like having twins sometimes!

3. Skinny Pop Chocolate Dusted Popcorn
It's SO good, y'all! My mom told me about it and we are both obsessed. It's a great snack with only 43 calories per cup.

4. Mac Sports Collapsible Outdoor Utility Wagon
I first discovered this a few weeks ago from our tailgate neighbors. I KNEW we needed to get one for the boys. Not only is it great for carting around little ones, we have used it to unload and load luggage to our car. It collapses down to fit in the back of the car and it is so easy to use!

They loved riding around in it!

Fall Fashion?

I was just perusing the Nordstrom website when I came across the Fall 2016 Designer Collections. I thought to myself, "Awesome! I can get an idea what the upcoming trends are". What I found was just a bit, um, strange? Not what I was expecting? Here are a few that I will likely not be partaking in.

Do you want to be a clown for Halloween? Just add face paint!
This is the Marni Cotton Poplin Blouse and for only $2,460 it can be yours!

When you gave your kid too many gold stars for the day and they don't have anywhere else to put them...
Valentino 'Star Studded' Booties: $1,895. I'm sure they are the most comfortable shoes ever.

When you have a hot date with Big Bird and you have to get a new dress for the occasion...duh!
Marchesa Beaded & Feather Tea Length Dress: $4,995

For that "I woke up like this" look, I suggest this:
It could double as a bath robe - maybe when you and Big Bird hit it off and get married! Koche Feather Patchwork Jacket: $4,830

or maybe this is more to your liking...
Simone Rocha 'Sparkle' Long Wool Blended Coat: $3,550

When you need a confidence booster:
That's not conceited at all. Dolce&Gabanna 'Small-Most Beautiful' Leather handbag: $3,675

Okay, don't get me wrong, there are a ton of cute items in here too, but I just wanted to point out some pieces that just stood out to me. If you have the cash and like one of these items, hey, WORK. IT. To each their own!

Week 2: 21 Day Fix Update

Ok, I honestly don't even want to put this out there because I feel like I'm not getting the results I want when I want them. I know it takes time, but I like to see that instant result. I just need to keep this picture in mind when I step on that scale and don't see any change!

This week, I stuck to the diet and workouts pretty well. Again, we went out of town for the weekend and it made it difficult to stick to eating healthy but I tried to make the best choices. I did indulge a little, but not too much that I felt like I fell off the wagon.

As of Monday, I lost 3 lbs from last week but only 1.5 inches. I was expecting to lose a few more inches in my waist and hips, but NOPE.

The past two days I have been taking the boys for a long walk in the morning before it gets too hot and they have loved it! I need to get back to the 21 Day Fix work outs...I realized I'm not as sore as when I first started out. Either I am just used to the soreness or I'm not working hard enough. I'm going to go with the first one. ;)

Time for that final push towards the finish line. Just 6 more days (and a few more to make up for slacking on the weekends!)

Thanks, Ryan. I think I will.

Ben's Two Month Update

Our sweet Benjamin is two months old! It seems like time is  just flying by but there are times when I look at him and think, you can’t sleep through the night yet?

Weight: This chunker tipped the scales at 14 lbs at the doctor’s office yesterday. He is in the 90th percentile in both weight and height. I was shocked when I heard that because little Luke at 2 months was 50th percentile for weight and 15th percentile for height. If Ben keeps this up, he will be as big as Brother by next year!

Height: 24 inches -  Just for kicks and giggles I measured Luke yesterday and he is about 28 inches (I think…he wouldn’t hold still for me. Go figure!)

Diaper Size: Size 1 diapers. We have one more box and then I think it is time to graduate to the next size up.

Clothing Size: 3-6 month clothes.

Nicknames: Ben, Benny Boo Boo, Big Ben

Health: He is one healthy boy! The only issues we have had with him this month is a stuffy nose occasionally. Nothing a little saline spray and the Nose Frida can’t fix.

Sleep: UGH.  Still waking up about every 3 hours at night. Usually its around 1 AM and then again at 4 AM. It wouldn’t be so bad unless at the 4 AM feeding he is just wide awake and happy as can be. He will fall asleep taking his bottle and then the moment you lay him back down he will wake up and make SO. MUCH. NOISE.  It usually takes an hour and a half for him to settle back down again and then I can fall asleep. After a discussion with the pediatrician, someone might be moving into another room soon…

Diet: Formula all the way. We have tried feeding him some rice cereal in attempts for him to sleep longer but it proved worthless. Eating about 4 to 5 oz every two and a half to three and a half hours is about to drive this mama crazy. It amazes me how fast three hours can go!

Loves: EATING. Being held, someone talking to him, his activity mat, sitting propped up so he can see what is going on.

Dislikes: being put down, sleeping (David’s contribution!), being hungry.

Other Random Things:
We are currently en route to College Station and it will be Ben’s first time in Aggieland! Get ready, kid. :)

Last weekend, Ben spent the entire weekend with GiGi and G Daddy and it was the longest time we had been apart.

We are loving how happy and smiley this boy is. He is very “talkative” and acts like he really is telling you something. It is so fun to see how different he is compared to Luke. Ben is our social butterfly while Luke is more reserved and observant. You have always had to work hard to get Luke to smile at you.

We skyped with Aunt Mariah in Zambia last week!

Watched his first NFL game last night…Go Broncos!

Show and Tell Tuesday: 3 Things I Can't Live Without

I'm linking up again with Momfessionals for Show and Tell Tuesday. The topic today: 3 Things I Can't Live Without

I am taking this topic as every day things that I use that I would feel lost/naked without. Now, if it were "on a deserted island" type thing, this would be completely different, but I'll leave that for another day ;)

1. My phone. Now, honestly, I really hate that I NEED my phone. As a mommy though, I just HAVE to have a quick way to snap a pic or a video of the boys! Their sweetness can be short-lived sometimes! I have mentioned to David that I want to have a designated evening every week where we turn off our phones and just put them away because its just not healthy for our relationship with each other/the boys. I'm thinking we might start doing this tonight!

2. Coffee. Ask me a year ago and I probably wouldn't have placed coffee in the the things I NEEDED everyday...but man, when you are up half the night with one baby and the other one has just one nap a day, you gotta do what you gotta do.

3. Yoga Pants. Yes, I know that this entire post is "so basic" but whatever. I love my yoga pants. I probably wear them 5-6 times a week. They are extremely comfy and I wore them throughout pregnancy and postpartum. Heck, I'm wearing them right now! I probably own 6 pairs of these and I'm probably not going to stop buying them every semi-annual sale.

What are three things you can't live without?
